Senior Software Quality Engineer (m/f/x) [Automation] in Kathmandu

Your Contribution

Oversee the quality assurance processes for both internal and customer-facing software projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, incorporating both manual and automated testing methodologies. Maintain and evolve test frameworks to improve efficiency and accuracy in testing.
Preparation, execution, documentation, and communication of tests.
Actively participate in the continuous improvement of test methods, processes, and tools. Regularly share best practices and contribute to the development of standardized procedures.
Foster close collaboration between project teams, IT architects, and project management to align quality assurance objectives with project goals.

Your Day-to-Day Tasks

Gather requirement specifications. Work closely with stakeholders to gather comprehensive requirement specifications.
Create detailed documentation of test plans, test cases, and testing results. Communicate findings effectively to relevant stakeholders.
Engage with development teams to ensure a clear understanding of software requirements and functionalities.
Perform exploratory testing with a focus on identifying and documenting defects.
Review defects and test logs to identify root causes and suggest solutions for improving testing, documentation, and process improvement.
Automate test cases and maintain test automation frameworks to improve testing efficiency.
Monitor and report on test progress, coverage, and results to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software.
Discover bugs and report them.
Performance tests.
Security tests.

Your Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or comparable experience.
Minimum 4+ years experience as Sr. Software Quality Engineer.
Experience with test automation and familiar with Cypress framework (Page Object pattern and Cucumber).
Experience with JavaScript programming language.
Quality- and customer-oriented, ability to work independently, excellent interpersonal skills with a positive and cooperative attitude.
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, such as Jenkins, Bitbucket or GitHub Actions.
Entrepreneurial thinking, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with entrepreneurial thinking and exceptional organizational multitasking and leadership skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
